Universal Orlando Resort is filled with thrilling and exciting experiences, but if you’re thinking that every attraction will keep you nice and dry when you’re going through the exit…you’ve got another thing coming!

Attractions that you Can Get Soaked On at Universal Orlando Resort

JURASSIC PARK RIVER ADVENTURE

As you turn the corner from King Kong, you’ll hear screams that turn from pure terror to a collective “I’m SOAKED!” This is because the ride vehicle sends you down an 85 foot drop into a pool of water.

We’re going to call this “bad water” because when you hit it at 50mph at 51°…it tends to go everywhere!

DUDLEY DO-RIGHT’S RIPSAW FALLS

When you look at this attraction from the outside, it’s all about getting soaked! I’ve been on it a couple times and each ride brings me out of the log wetter and wetter.

One of the original attractions at Islands of Adventure, this experience is all about the drop that sends you plunging down a 75 foot drop into pool that doesn’t have the satisfying end that Jurassic River Adventure has. In fact, when you drop…you keep going down a coaster-style rail that will keep drenching you until you think that you’re safe.

That’s when guests that are standing on the bridge reach in their pockets a PAY to have the opportunity to spray you with numbered hoses. Just being honest…it’s well worth budgeting $20 or so for tokens because you’ll never laugh harder!

Make sure that you pick the logs with guests who have decided to take off their ponchos because they believe that the ride is over;)

POPEYE AND BLUTO’S BILGE-RAT BARGES

You’ll be forgiven if these characters won’t be memorable, as most folks can’t even remember the last time that Popeye was in the entertainment zeitgeist.

Fun fact: Popeye the Sailor first appeared in 1929 in a cartoon strip and was named in 2002 as TV Guide’s #20 of “50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time” list.

Kids – The TV Guide was a magazine that was published in order to see what was going to be on TV. This was before DVR and before streaming, when you’d actually have to tune into a specific day & time in order to see something. 😉 #imOld

BACK To Bilge-Rat Barges

Imagine getting into a barge with other guests and then getting drenched for 5 full minutes. Literally, all you do is laugh at everyone else’s pain of having gallons of cold water dumped on their heads….just in time to have karma come back and completely soak you more!

So those are the attractions at Universal Orlando Resort that will basically guarantee a soaking.
If you’re wanting to spend the day getting drenched on purpose, maybe you should consider heading over to Volcano Bay Water Theme Park! 😉
