Disney World Expensive Hobbies — Costliest Fan Collections

Disney World is not just a theme park; it’s a world of its own filled with experiences and merchandise that can have even the most non-materialistic Disney fans reaching for their wallets.

Let’s look at some of the expensive Disney World fandoms that will have you splurging your hard-earned money to be part of the magic. From collectibles to fine dining and everything in between, here are the top 10 costly Disney World obsessions.

Popcorn Buckets

Imagine standing in line for hours under the scorching Florida sun just to buy a popcorn bucket.

You know that it’s designed to be a vessel for popcorn, but you still want it in pristine condition and potentially graded along with your PSA 10 Charizard Holo.

Ironically, many of these buckets can’t even hold much popcorn, but their allure remains irresistible. Just look at the ebay listings!

Victoria & Alberts

This pains me to write, but dining at Victoria & Alberts at Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort is an expensive fandom.

I’ve got articles talking about how amazing it is. We’ve booked two trips around getting a reservation. I have a pile of our personalized menus and we also use a Victoria & Alberts gift card while in the parks.

It’s pricey, but you definitely have to try it once!

Spirit Jerseys

How many $85 long sleeve shirts does one person need?

Also, do we have to mention that you can’t even wear the Spirit Jerseys for months out of the year because it’s Florida and the weather doesn’t require you to have long sleeves?

I’ve seen the full collection, from Cast Member to DVC, Parks to random sayings. Everything has been on the back of a Spirit Jersey.

Starbucks

There are actually two parts to this fandom with two different outcomes.

First, there are the folks who absolutely can’t live without their grande sugar-free vanilla iced cold brew with light ice. Caffeine dependency is a real thing, but sometimes a $1 iced coffee from McDonalds is okay.

I’m not one to talk, as we’ve been Gold Star reward members from Starbucks for at least a decade.

Secondly, the folks who have to collect the You are Here Mugs and the specialty celebration cups.

I’m also one not to talk, as I’m up to 20 and the collection continues!

This is easy – you’re not cool if you don’t have a loungefly bag.

Nuff said.

Mickey Ears

So after multiple minutes of back and forth discussions, I’ve decided to add this with an asterix. Mickey Ears are great for memories and the more unique the better.

Where the “expensive fandom” comes in is when you see people bringing in multiple sets of ears for instagram photo shoots.

If you have to actually say the words “I need to match my ears with my outfit” – it belongs on the list.

Pandora

We’re not talking about Pandora: The World of Avatar.

I’m bringing you into the world of shiny jewelry with beads and charms that represent milestones, people, places, and films. New releases and special members-only previews create huge lines of fans looking for the newest bead to add to their collection.

I’ve seen folks in tears and full meltdowns about not being able to a specific charm.

There are currently more than 100 items available in the Disney x Pandora collection – and that’s not including all the past and future listings.

Gideons

Have you seen the line?

Each cookie is $6. The biggest “plus” about this one is that you don’t need a park ticket to be able to snag a snack – but if you pay attention to their social media you might be able to grab one of their special cake slices before they run out.

It’s worth it – but it’s an expensive fandom!

Lego

Remember when I talked about lining up for new releases of popcorn buckets? Well put that into a different stratosphere with waiting in line to buy a $500+limited edition lego set that will literally collect dust on a shelf. Don’t get me wrong; Lego is a great activity and they have some really cool sets! But what do you do with them once they’re built?

You could get a great evening at Victoria & Alberts for that price!

Disney World fandoms are not only about making magical memories but also about embracing expensive obsessions. Whether it’s collecting charms, indulging in fine dining, or hoarding collectibles, these fandoms showcase the lengths Disney enthusiasts are willing to go to be part of the magic. Just remember to budget wisely as you navigate these enchanting worlds of Disney extravagance.
