Universal Orlando Resort is full of rides, shows and things that we want to eat and drink (looking at you butterbeer!), but what if I shared that it’s also a destination for awesome photos?
In this helpful article, the goal is to share where you should plan to grab “postcard-level” photos.
Islands of Adventure Sign
There are two spots for this one, including outside the turnstiles at the official “icon” lighthouse and the bridge that welcomes guests to where the adventure begins. Both deserve a couple opportunities, so don’t be afraid to stop midday as you’re park hopping between Universal Studios and Islands.
Hogwarts Castle
Two options here, but my favourite is on the bridge coming from Jurassic Park to Hogsmeade Village via King Kong.
Whether or not you’re a Potterhead, you can’t go wrong with a backdrop out of the movies.

Marvel Superhero Island
Stepping into the comics is easy when you’re surrounded by superheros of our childhood. From Spider-man to Thor and everyone in between, there’s nothing more epic than being in the action.
The Incredible Hulk
Coasters can be tricky to photograph, but with the frequency of the first thrill ride on the list, you should be okay.
The spot for this one is right in front of the attraction, timed for when the coaster ride vehicle is rushing by.
Velocicoaster
If you did okay with the Hulk, make your way to the front of the Velocicoaster in Jurassic Park.
The goal is to get the picture when the vehicles are upside down. It’s awesome!

And finally, the best spot: The Waterfront
The StepstoMagic difference is easy to describe. My favourite spot is usually hidden mid-article, because why would I share the best of the best to those who don’t actually spend time learning my writing style.
This spot is breathtaking and never busy. Take your time. Take your selfies. Enjoy the view!

Pro Tips for Memorable Photos:
- Visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon (or sunset) to avoid crowds and get the best lighting conditions.
- Experiment with different camera settings and angles to create unique shots. I love playing with portrait and various panorama views.
- Consider using a trash can or a railing as a stabilizer for steady shots, especially on fast-paced rides.
- Don’t be afraid to ask fellow parkgoers or Universal team members to take your picture. They’re usually happy to help.
