The Magic Kingdom transforms into a winter wonderland during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event running select nights from November 9 to December 22. Here are our top tips to make the most of your magical evening!
1. Early Entry Advantage
While the party officially starts at 7:00 PM, ticket holders can enter the park as early as 4:00 PM. Take advantage of this extra time to get oriented and plan your evening.
2. Parade Strategy
The Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade runs twice nightly (8:30 PM and 11:00 PM). Pro tip: Skip the first parade when crowds are larger and instead enjoy shorter attraction wait times. The later parade typically has smaller crowds and better viewing spots.
3. Prime Attraction Time
The best time for attractions is between 10:30 PM and midnight. Popular rides like Tron Lightcycle Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion, and Big Thunder Mountain often have shorter wait times during this period.
4. Special Holiday Attractions
Don’t miss the holiday overlays that are exclusive to party nights:
- Space Mountain – Holiday Run!!
- Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (special holiday edition)
- Skip the Jingle Cruise – while festive, it’s not party-exclusive and best saved for regular park days
5. Complimentary Treats
Throughout the park, you’ll find stations offering:
- Various cookie flavors (ginger molasses, peppermint crunch, snickerdoodle)
- Beverages (Nestle Nesquik, snow cones, eggnog, hot chocolate)
- Healthy options like apple slices
- Allergy-friendly alternatives (available upon request)

6. Character Meet & Greets
Focus on party-exclusive character experiences:
- Characters in special holiday attire
- Jack Skellington and Sally
- Scrooge McDuck
- Skip the main Santa line and opt for Santa Goofy in Storybook Circus instead
7. Fireworks Viewing
The Holiday Wishes fireworks show starts at 10:00 PM. Best viewing tip: Watch from in front of the Main Street Theatre store on Main Street U.S.A. for a perfect view of both the castle and fireworks.
8. Castle Show
Don’t miss the Frozen Holiday Wish castle lighting ceremony at 8:15 PM. Position yourself near the Partners Statue for optimal viewing.
9. Entertainment Options
The party features exclusive live entertainment, including:
- Special holiday stage shows
- A cappella groups performing classic holiday music
- Character dance parties
- The magical snow experience on Main Street U.S.A.

10. Dining Strategy
- Not all restaurants are open during the party
- Avoid spending too much time in line for food
- Locations near high-traffic areas (like Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland) tend to be busiest
- Check the Disney Eats Foodie Guide for up-to-date party-exclusive treats
11. Merchandise Tips
Purchase party-exclusive merchandise early in the evening at designated retail locations:
- Special pins
- Holiday ornaments
- Event-specific apparel
- Limited edition MagicBands

12. Be Flexible
Keep your plans flexible and be ready to adjust your schedule based on crowds and wait times. Having a rough outline while staying spontaneous often works best.
We’re big fans of having a checklist of things that would make the party memorable, and then getting those done asap before moving on to additional wins.
13. Weather Preparedness
Even in Florida, evenings can get cool during the holiday season. Bring layers to stay comfortable throughout the night.
14. Special Dietary Needs
Alert Cast Members about any food allergies or dietary restrictions – they’ll direct you to appropriate treats and alternatives.
15. Cast Member Interaction
Engage with Cast Members working the party – they often have insider tips and can enhance your experience. Don’t forget to compliment their festive accessories!
Note: Entertainment offerings and schedules are subject to change. Check the official Disney World website for the most current information.
