Quick Service Restaurants at Disney World We Plan to Visit, But Always Change Our Minds

Honesty is the best policy, so when we plan to visit Walt Disney World, we don’t have the time (or the stomach space) to eat at every single restaurant on our list.

There are some that we continue to go back to, such as Regal Eagle BBQ at the American Adventure in EPCOT and Satuli Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Then there are some that are constantly on our list that we bypass for a number of reasons.

Let’s look at the Quick Service Restaurants at Disney World that we tend to skip.

The Smokehouse at House of Blues – Disney Springs

Even with all the amazing BBQ options, from a BBQ Brisket Sandwich to Mac & Cheese and Nachos, we always pass.

It’s not because we don’t feel like it’s a good value or because the ambience on the West Side isn’t worth the trip.

It’s actually because we feel as though the best BBQ at Disney Springs is actually at the Polite Pig, so why settle when you can go and get the best.

Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

I will share that we are at Capt. Cook’s constantly, but it’s because this quick service resort grab & go location has a refill station for soda (and free water).

What stops us from eating there? It’s a mix of quality, price and the fact that you’re a couple Monorail stops away from Steakhouse 71 and the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort.

Capt. Cook’s can also sometimes appear too busy, as folks waiting for Trader Sam’s can take up seating as they wait for the speakeasy down the hall to open.

Sunshine Seasons

Here’s an interesting one, as Sunshine Seasons is one of the best Quick Service restaurants on property, but it’s all about timing.

This cafeteria-style open eatery in The Land in Future World can be perfect for families and those who find their way to Soarin’ and Living with the Land attractions mid-day or for dinner, but we actually tend to be at this restaurant before things really get going.

EPCOT is all about timing, so we’re more likely to start in France for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and then walk up to The Land for Soarin’ and then over to Norway for Frozen Ever After. The World Showcase doesn’t open until later in the morning, so by the time we’re done in Norway, it’s just perfect timing for Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Adventure.

Earl of Sandwich

As the Earl continues to expand into different markets around the globe, including a spot in Edmonton and Vegas, the allure of the sandwich falls into something that you can get at your local food court.

Out of all the food options in the Marketplace, we’ve continued to walk past this through to the aforementioned Polite Pig or to D Burger.

Pecos Bills

We’ve stopped going to the Frontierland quick service spot because it continues to change, and unfortunately not for the best.

If you’re in need of a good lunch spot, the best continues to be Columbia Harbour House and it’s not even a close contest between the two.

Boardwalk Deli

We’ve been starving for dinner and decided to UBER from the Boardwalk to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for Saana.

In fact, the next time you think about getting a sandwich or something quick from the Boardwalk Deli – just remember that you’re so close to Yacht & Beach Club or EPCOT.

Are there any other quick service restaurants that you’ve fallen out of love with that you still recommend but may skip personally?
