Orlando International Airport’s (MCO) Terminal C is more than just a transit point it’s a destination in itself. Here’s what you need to know about the food, shopping, and unique features, along with some personal insights from my visits.
Food and Shopping Highlights
Local Flavors and National Brands: Terminal C offers over 33 retail and food spots, including local favorites like Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Co., Wine Bar George, and Cask & Larder, alongside national brands like Summer House. The lineup has grown since opening and now includes Shake Shack, DeSano Pizzeria, Chick-fil-A, Auntie Anne’s/Cinnabon, and Greenbeat, among others.
Theme Park Shopping: You can shop at official Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando stores right in the terminal — all post-security in the Palm Court area. One important note: unlike Terminals A and B, everything at Terminal C is post-security. If you want the Disney store or Wine Bar George, you need a boarding pass to get there.
Duty-Free Shopping: International travelers can take advantage of duty-free shopping through 3Sixty Duty Free.
Plaza Premium Lounge: This lounge offers a dedicated area for families, a restaurant and bar, and quiet spaces for business travelers — though as the only lounge in the terminal, it can feel stretched during busy periods.

What International Arrivals Need to Know
This is the one thing that genuinely catches first-timers off guard. Terminal C is a “Bags First” facility, which means when you arrive on an international flight, you collect your checked luggage before proceeding to passport control — not after. Biometric technology at the customs hall keeps the process moving, and Global Entry kiosks and the CBP Mobile Passport app are both available if you qualify. Knowing this in advance makes the whole arrival feel less disorienting.

Other Notable Features
- RFID Baggage Handling: Your luggage is tracked in real-time, and MCO is the only airport in the world to deploy the full Early Bag Storage robotic system with 1,800 bag capacity.
- Sustainability: Terminal C is one of the first LEEDv4 airport campuses in the world.
- Immersive Art: Large-scale interactive digital displays throughout the terminal showcase Central Florida’s natural environment — genuinely impressive, especially for kids waiting at gates.
- Passenger Amenities: A serenity room, nursing station, and pet relief areas are all available.
- Brightline Access: The terminal sits directly adjacent to the Brightline station, with direct rail service to Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Miami.
- New Pedestrian Bridge: Now open, connecting Terminal C to the Terminal Link and Parking Garage C, with additional walkway extensions coming through 2026 to improve accessibility.
Pro Tip: Download the MCO app for real-time updates on dining and navigation. The free MCO Reserve service lets you pre-book your TSA security timeslot up to seven days in advance — worth using during busy travel periods.

Personal Insights
As a theme park fan, I’ve always had a certain expectation of excitement from Orlando International Airport because of the Disney and Universal presence in the original terminals. With Terminal C, what struck me most is how deliberately Orlando has been woven into every part of the experience — from the local restaurant operators to the visual design throughout. This isn’t a generic airport that happens to be near theme parks. It feels like the city actually showed up.
The dining connection to Disney Springs is real and worth calling out. Wine Bar George, Cask & Larder, and Sunshine Diner by Chef Art Smith are all operated by the same teams behind restaurants you may already know from Disney property. For a Disney fan, that’s a genuinely nice touch — familiar quality in an unfamiliar setting.
We spent time wandering Terminal C on both arrival and departure days across multiple trips, and it consistently holds up. It’s the kind of place that makes the beginning and end of a vacation feel like part of the experience rather than something to endure.

Top Things I’ve Learned After Multiple Visits
- Everything is post-security — unlike the older terminals, all dining and shopping requires going through TSA first. Plan for this if you’re meeting someone or arriving early.
- The Universal Orlando store has expanded its Epic Universe footprint now that the park is open. Worth more than a quick look.
- Summer House is the best sit-down option. The second floor is calmer, and it’s the right place for a proper meal before a long flight home.
- There are two Starbucks locations — one in Palm Court and one on Level 6. The MCO You Are Here mug is available for collectors.
- The terminal is still growing. Eight additional gates were added by the end of 2025, and four new boarding piers are planned as part of the ongoing Phase 1 expansion.

New in 2026: Visit Terminal C Without a Flight
The Experience MCO Visitor Pass Program now includes Terminal C for the first time. Non-ticketed guests can apply for post-security access to shop and dine without a boarding pass. Available timeslots run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with guests required to exit by 8:00 p.m. Applications are submitted in advance through the official MCO website based on daily availability.

Final Thoughts
At Orlando’s Terminal C, your Florida experience begins the moment you land. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite, some last-minute souvenirs, or a relaxing pre-flight experience, this terminal has you covered — and will likely still surprise you with what it does right.
