Secret Music Playlist for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

If you had the chance to pick the song that you could listen to while on a rollercoaster, what would you choose?

Would it be a slow-jam or an 80’s hairband?

Could it be an Elton John or a Muppets tune?

All of these (and more) are available for your ride on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit coaster at Universal Studios Florida! Let’s talk about what to do and when you should do it!

THE STORY

When Universal Orlando was creating the soundtrack for their new coaster at Universal Studios Florida, there was talk about allowing guests the opportunity to pick their own song. After the ride opened, rumors started that there was a hidden (or secret) function that actually brought hundreds of songs to the fingertips of riders…and all they needed to do was “press and hold”!

HOW TO ACCESS THE SECRET SONG FUNCTION

When you board the coaster, look down at the mounted control panel that lists the genres. Instead of picking the genre, just hold down the Rockit logo for 10 seconds.

Once you let go, a number pad will appear in front of you and then (and only then) will you have the opportunity to jam to whichever number you enter

PLEASE NOTE

If the screen says “Please be aware you are unable to make a video with this song” – you were successful!

If you hear a “click”…then the number wasn’t valid and you get to listen to the screams of other guests instead of Lose Yourself by Eminem!

OFFICIAL VS UNOFFICIAL

Although Universal doesn’t have an “official” list, there are a ton of websites that have done the research for you. I’m pulling from as many sources as possible to get my favs, but doing a simple google search for “hollywood rip ride rockit songs” will guide you to a bunch of sites:)
