Top 10 Things We Can’t Wait To Do Again

Share post:

Disney World is filled with experiences that, unless you’re a local, you may only get a chance to do it once in a lifetime. This may not be because you can’t afford them or don’t visit the resort enough…it’s actually more of a fact that there are events and activities that you want to experience that you’ve never done before.

DOLE WHIP

Dole Whip in the Magic Kingdom (Image: Dustin Fuhs / StepstoMagic)

When you’re lining up at Aloha Isle, and you see the machines filled with pineapple juice with the whirr of ice cream being made…knowing that within just a few moments – you’ll be in Dole Whip heaven!

EAT A CUPCAKE FROM THE SPRINKLES CUPCAKES ATM

There’s a machine at Disney Springs that, quite simply, allows you to purchase dreams! I’ve never wanted to stand in a line for an ATM more than at Sprinkles Cupcakes!

FRONT ROW ON ROCK N ROLLER COASTER / BACK ROW ON EXPEDITION EVEREST

So this is more of a personal one, but this is kind of a subjective list because it’s things that we can’t wait to do again. There are attractions at Walt Disney World that are different experiences depending on where you sit in the ride vehicle.

Rock n Roller Coaster is by far a better ride when you’re in the front row, due to the fact that nothing is impacting your view as you’re going 0-60 in 2.8 seconds in your super stretch limo!

Expedition Everest (spoilers) goes backwards during a section of high-intensity, so when you’re at the back…you’re kinda at the front. Plus the “whip” feeling that you get when you’re going down the main drop is just as intense as you could imagine!

MEETING MICKEY

‘Magic’ is the only way to express the feeling that you get when you’re about to meet Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World.

Now, here’s the catch – you have to meet Mickey for the first time either at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Sorcerer Mickey) OR on Main Street USA (Magician Mickey), as they’ll give you the best one-on-one experience without feeling like you’re being rushed.

FLIGHT OF PASSAGE

I gotta be honest – the first time that I was at Walt Disney World after Pandora: The World of Avatar opened (July 2017), all the FastPass+ reservations were taken by the time that I booked the trip…so it was a choice that I made to skip both attractions until my November 2017 trip. I made sure to get in…and I ended up with two FP+ during our trip and it was absolutely astonishing!

I’ve never said “wow” so many times while I was riding an attraction. The second time was actually better, as we knew what to look for and what to expect. Can’t wait til the next ride!

11:15AM ADR AT TUSKER HOUSE

I like bacon. Ok, that’s an understatement! I LOVE BACON!

If you’ve ever been to a buffet during a changeover from breakfast to lunch…you know where I’m coming from with this one. Imagine having your first plate as the best that Disney can do at breakfast (mickey waffles, bacon, etc) and then having the second plate as the freshest lunch goodies possible before ending with a dessert to send you out to adventure in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Talk about something that we can’t wait to do again!

SEEING SNOW ON MAIN STREET USA AT MVMCP

The Magic Kingdom during the holiday season is just awesome! This note focuses on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which brings the excitement of classic Disney fun with technology that we will be talking about for a long time.

The fact that you can walk down Main Street USA, in Florida, during November & December…and see snow?! It’s something that may not turn up great in photos, but that almost makes you want to go back more, right?

THE KISS GOODNIGHT FROM IN FRONT OF THE CASTLE

This will always bring a tear to my eye. Period

Let’s set the scene: It was my last night of my contract in 2008. I sat down in front of the Castle, knowing that my life will never be the same starting tomorrow after getting on a plane to head home. And then it happened….I heard Walt’s voice over the speakers.

Although I’ve experienced The Kiss Goodnight a few more times over the years, this is one that stays on this list of things that we can’t wait to do again…because it’ll bring me back to that moment in time when I realized that a Disney Park isn’t just a theme park. It’s so much more:)

TRICKING SOMEONE INTO DRINKING BEVERLY

I figured this deserves to be on the list because of the pure childlike joy that I get from watching someone unaware of the power of Beverly fill up their cup, take a drink and then look at me with that look of pain and sickness that only brings a smile to my face!

TELLING A FAMILY ABOUT THE HIDDEN PASCALS IN FANTASYLAND

This is a fun one, because we spend a fair amount of time around The Haunted Mansion and Momento Mori. Just around the corner is the Tangled bathrooms, which has a hidden gem that often gets overlooked. I love showing families the first Hidden Pascal, and then mentioning that there’s more….many more….and then just wandering away!

It’s probably the best ‘in-real-life’ scavenger hunt which brings everyone together on the same level. It doesn’t take much, which is why we can’t wait to do it again!
