If you’re reading this article, you’re looking for advice on where to look for additional information on planning a trip to Walt Disney World.
Welcome to the club!
As a Disney World Annual Passholder from Toronto, I’m always planning my next trip and my goal is to share where I look for stuff. Remember that there are always changes with websites and what information they provide.
Best Disney World Planning Websites
THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO BOOK A TRIP
- Hotel First, followed by airfare, Dining and FastPass+ reservations
- Airfare First, followed by hotel, Dining and FastPass+
- Or if you’re like me….Dining First, then Airfare & Hotel combined before FastPass+.
With no “correct” or “right” way to book a trip, it’s all up to you!
HOTELS & AIRFARE
I’m a fan of using Expedia, but with so many websites available in different countries…just have fun and stay with trusted sources. Maybe checking out a Disney Travel Agent in your neck of the woods would also help.
Personally, I know that I’ll be on a 7am flight from Toronto and will be staying at whichever hotel has vacancy…so this is one of the times that it’s less about the sources and more about the dates that you’re going to be visiting.
UNDERCOVER TOURIST
Website: https://www.undercovertourist.com/orlando/crowd-calendar/
Crowd Calendar – This is the first place that I stop when I’m thinking about dates. It’ll provide you with a starting point on knowing what’s open and when, on top of giving you both Disney World and Universal Orlando.

TOURINGPLANS
Website: https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/crowd-calendar
Another Crowd Calendar – Having more information is always welcome! Know ahead of time that the crowds will either make or break your vacation…and if you’re not in the know about school holidays…this will save you!
WEATHER NETWORK
Website: https://www.theweathernetwork.com/us/weather/florida/kissimmee
On top of the crowds, you’ll want to know the weather that could be awaiting you once your plane arrives in Orlando! The reason why I put “Kissimmee” vs “Orlando” is because there’s always a difference in temperatures and forecasts between the two locations.
ALLEARS
Website: http://allears.net/dining/menu/
Planning a trip to Disney can be incredibly frustrating when you don’t know where to look for basic information, like menus. I use the official Disney site, but there’s something to be said with using a site that’s populated by folks who don’t work for the company.
DISNEY DISH PODCAST
Website: https://disneydish.bandcamp.com/
Want up-to-date information in the form of a conversational podcast network? The Jim Hill Media network is all about giving you the “who, what and why” for company decisions and things that are coming to the parks.

TRIPADVISOR
Website: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ThemePark-g34515-d8428124-Walt_Disney_World-Orlando_Florida.html
With TripAdvisor, you’re getting reviews and photos for individual locations. This may include activities, attractions and dining…but remember to keep things on this site with a grain of salt because everything is subjective.
THE OFFICIAL WALT DISNEY WORLD WEBSITE
Website: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/
Pretty obvious, but you’ll want to be be on the Walt Disney World website (and My Disney Experience App) to get all your Dining Reservations, Fastpass+ Reservations and everything else!
Hope this was helpful! If you are looking for additional information, I’d be honoured if you would spend more time on the StepstoMagic.com website:)
If there are specific information that you’re looking for, please send me an email to [email protected] and I’ll be more than happy to post an article that answers your question!
