Disney World Must-Do List — Things You Can’t Miss

After countless Disney World visits, writing hundreds of articles, and yes, even working in the parks, I’ve learned one crucial thing: Walt Disney World is massive. Like, seriously massive. I’ve seen so many people try to “do it all” in one trip, and trust me, that’s a recipe for vacation burnout.

Instead, let me break down the absolute must-dos for each park. These aren’t just tourist spots – they’re the experiences that truly make Disney World magical. (And yes, some of these picks might surprise you, but that’s what happens when you’ve spent years exploring every corner of these parks! 😉)

Must-Take Photos

The Castle shot is obvious (grab it early morning or during the parade when crowds thin out), but don’t skip Main Street USA. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people rush past it, missing those perfect small-town vibes. And please, please get a photo with Mickey – it’s a timeless memory you’ll treasure.

Can’t-Miss Rides

  • Pirates of the Caribbean (the queue alone is worth it)
  • Haunted Mansion (different every time you ride it)
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (the newest reimagining that’s absolutely knocked it out of the park)
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (worth the early rope drop sprint)
  • Peter Pan’s Flight (yes, the wait is long – do it earlier in the day or late at night)

Essential Snacks & Shows

Look, you haven’t done Disney until you’ve had a Dole Whip at Aloha Isle (pro tip: mobile order it while in line for another attraction). LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s Tavern is my go-to for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Don’t even think about missing Happily Ever After fireworks or the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Even after seeing them hundreds of times, they still give me goosebumps.

EPCOT: Where Innovation Meets Culture

I’ve explored every corner of this park over the years, and these experiences never disappoint.

Must-Dos

  • Spaceship Earth photos (especially at night – the lighting is incredible)
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (eat AFTER, not before)
  • Soarin’ (ask for B1 for the best view)
  • Frozen Ever After (worth the trek to Norway)

The pastries at Les Halles Boulangerie aren’t just good “for a theme park” – they’re legitimately amazing French pastries. And don’t skip Luminous: The Symphony of Us – it’s exactly the kind of heartfelt spectacle that makes EPCOT special.

Animal Kingdom: Where Adventure Meets Nature

Must-Experience Attractions

  • Tree of Life (get up close – the animal carvings are incredible)
  • Avatar Flight of Passage (this is why you bought the ticket)
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris (go early morning or at sunset for most active animals)
  • Expedition Everest (front row or back row – no in-between! Oh, and Single Rider exists)
  • DINOSAUR (yes, it’s intense – that’s the point!)

Satuli Canteen isn’t just one of the best quick service in Animal Kingdom – it’s one of the best in any Disney park. Period.

Hollywood Studios: Action and Adventure

This park has evolved so much over the years, and these experiences are absolute gold:

Must-Do Attractions

  • Rise of the Resistance (worth every minute of the wait)
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (pilot position if you can get it)
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (perfect antidote to a hot Florida day)
  • Slinky Dog Dash (surprisingly thrilling!)
  • Tower of Terror (still the best themed attraction in Disney World)

Fantasmic! is the perfect way to end your Studios day. Grab a spot 45 minutes early – you won’t regret it.

Insider Tips You Need to Know

  • Don’t try to do everything. Seriously. Pick your must-dos and consider everything else a bonus.
  • Early morning or late evening are your best friends for shorter wait times.
  • Take breaks! The parks aren’t going anywhere.
  • Weather protection is crucial – think portable fans and ponchos.
  • Be kind to everyone you meet – it makes the magic even better!

Remember, these are just the highlights – there’s so much more to discover. But if you hit these experiences, you’ll have had a truly magical Disney World vacation. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
