Disney World 2025 — Everything New Coming This Year

Hey Disney friends! The 2025 announcements dropped, and wow, there’s a lot to unpack here. Let’s break down what’s actually coming (and what you really need to know about each addition).

1. A Brand New Nighttime Parade at Magic Kingdom

What Disney Says: “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” debuts in summer 2025, featuring beloved characters from classics like Peter Pan alongside newer favorites from Encanto, Frozen, and Moana. The Blue Fairy from Pinocchio weaves starlight magic throughout the parade route.

What You Need to Know: Finally – a new nighttime parade! Magic Kingdom hasn’t had one since Main Street Electrical Parade and Spectromagic said goodbye, and this is huge news. But here’s the thing about parade viewing – everyone’s going to crowd Main Street U.S.A. like it’s the only spot in the park. Your best bet? Head to Frontierland near Country Bears. You’ll get the same magical experience with half the crowd (and easier access for an after-parade Dole Whip).

2. The Spaceship Earth Lounge Experience

What Disney Says: Late spring brings an elegant lounge experience inside Spaceship Earth, offering culinary creations and stunning views of World Celebration Gardens.

What You Need to Know: If Space 220’s reservation wars taught us anything, this is going to be one of THE hardest booking of 2025. We’re talking 60-day windows gone in seconds. But the views? They’ll be incredible, especially during fireworks. Start watching the Disney Parks Blog for reservation info.

3. Test Track’s Complete Reimagining

What Disney Says: General Motors and Walt Disney Imagineering are creating a new storyline, with cars returning to the track early in the year before the full experience opens in late summer.

What You Need to Know: Whenever Disney says “late summer,” pack your patience – these projects typically slide into fall. The good news? Test Track desperately needs this update (those touch screens aren’t aging well), and with an added influx of sponsorship dollars may suggest that we might see some cutting-edge automotive tech incorporated into the ride.

4. A Villainous New Show on Sunset

What Disney Says: “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” brings Cruella, Hook, and Maleficent to Hollywood Studios in summer 2025.

What You Need to Know: This is taking over Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy location, which honestly makes sense – that area of Sunset Boulevard was begging for some villain vibes. The theater has fantastic air conditioning, so this might become your new favorite afternoon break spot during those sweaty summer days.

What’s funny is that this was announced before Disney announced that the Muppets were taking over Rock n Roller Coaster…so be prepared for this to be a short-term test and adjust for the team to figure out what villains will work in the recently announced Villains Land, going into the Magic Kingdom.

5. Indiana Jones Takes Over DINOSAUR

What Disney Says: 2025 is your last chance to ride DINOSAUR before it closes.

What You Need to Know: Plot twist – DINOSAUR isn’t just closing, it’s getting an Indiana Jones overlay! This makes perfect sense since both rides use the similar track system (seriously, compare the ride layouts sometime). While we’ll miss our prehistoric friends, bringing Indy to Florida is a smart move. Get your final DINOSAUR rides in 2025 before the change begins.

You should also be prepared to see most of Dinoland USA end up in constructionland this year, which has already started with the removal of Primevil Whirl, Triceratop Spin and the games.

6. Under the Sea at Hollywood Studios

What Disney Says: “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” debuts in summer 2025 with two new songs joining the classics we know and love.

What You Need to Know: Disney’s betting big on stage shows in 2025, and this one’s particularly interesting with those new musical numbers. These shows typically run 25-30 minutes, making them perfect for midday breaks. Expect the first few months to be packed while everyone checks out the new songs.

7. A Pirates Tavern Where Dreams Come True

What Disney Says: A new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern is coming to Magic Kingdom in late 2025.

What You Need to Know: This is replacing the old Pirates League location (remember those pirate makeovers?). While we don’t have menu details yet, expect prices similar to Skipper Canteen – Disney’s pretty consistent with their Magic Kingdom dining pricing. The location near Pirates of the Caribbean means you might finally have a nice spot to wait out those afternoon thunderstorms!

8. Zootopia Moves Into the Tree of Life

What Disney Says: The Tree of Life Theater debuts “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” in winter 2025.

What You Need to Know: This is replacing It’s Tough to be a Bug (goodbye, stinging bug effects!). 4D shows typically run 12-15 minutes, so this could be a perfect spot to escape the Animal Kingdom heat. Plus, being inside the Tree of Life means great air conditioning – always a win in Florida!

9. New Perks for Resort Guests

What Disney Says: Disney Resort guests get complimentary Water Park access on arrival day and exclusive 30-minute early entry to the parks.

What You Need to Know: That Water Park access is genuinely useful if you plan it right – book an early flight and you’ve got a fun arrival day activity that won’t eat into your park tickets. As for that early entry? It’s nice, but remember – you’re sharing it with every other resort guest. Plan accordingly!

10. Disney After Hours Returns

What Disney Says: These special ticketed events return to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios with included snacks and drinks.

What You Need to Know: After Hours events are pricey but worth it if you hate lines. You’re looking at 3 hours in the parks with minimal waits, plus all the Mickey bars you can eat. Keep an eye on pricing – these events typically start around $155 to $185 per person but can go higher during peak seasons.

Quick Planning Tips for 2025:

  • Start watching for Spaceship Earth Lounge reservations 60 days out
  • Plan your DINOSAUR farewell visits early in the year
  • Consider Disney After Hours if you’re visiting during peak seasons
  • Book early flights to take advantage of that Water Park arrival day perk
