Disney World Late-Night Dining — What’s Actually Open

I hate to be the bearer of disappointing news, but I need to start this updated article with some honesty: There are no longer any 24-hour restaurants at Disney World. Zero. Nada.

As someone who wrote about Disney’s 24-hour dining options back in 2020, I’m frustrated by this change too. The pandemic fundamentally shifted how Disney operates, and unfortunately, late-night dining was one of the casualties that never fully recovered. Hopefully it’ll change in the future!

What Used to Be Open 24 Hours (RIP)

Let me pour one out for what we’ve lost:

Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa used to be our go-to 24-hour spot. It’s now only open until 11 PM (though this spot USED to be open 24 hours!), offering the same great selection of pizzas, flatbreads, and snacks—just not around the clock anymore.

Captain Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village also scaled back its hours. Cap’t. Cook’s, the hotel’s resident fast-food spot, is open til 11PM most nights (another spot we miss being 24 hours!).

The Current Late-Night Reality

While there aren’t any round-the-clock 24-hour dining options at Walt Disney World, you’ll find that almost every resort has at least one location open until 11 PM. Here’s what’s still available for late-night cravings:

Resort Quick Service Options (Open Until 11 PM)

  • Gasparilla Island Grill (Grand Floridian) – Pizza, flatbreads, snacks
  • Captain Cook’s (Polynesian) – Flatbreads, baked goods, fresh fruit
  • Contempo Cafe (Contemporary) – Full quick-service meals, that amazing $5.19 Peanut Butter Pie
  • Three Bridges Bar & Grill (Coronado Springs) – Open until midnight

Disney Springs: Your Best Late-Night Bet

Disney Springs offers the most late-night dining options, with most Disney Springs spots open until 11 – maybe 11:30 on weekends. Some standouts include:

  • Enzo’s Hideaway – Special late night menu Sunday-Thursday 10PM-12AM / Friday & Saturday 11PM-1AM
  • T-Rex Cafe – 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. – Midnight Friday – Saturday
  • City Works Eatery & Pour House – Open from 10:00 a.m. – midnight

The One True 24-Hour Option (Sort Of)

Here’s where things get interesting: There actually is one place open 24 hours, and that’s the McDonald’s right outside the gates to the All Star Resorts. However, the dining room is open 6:00 a.m. to midnight, so outside of those hours, you definitely need a vehicle to use the drive thru window.

This renovated McDonald’s is located at 1596 W. Buena Vista Drive, literally right outside the gates of Disney’s All-Star Resorts. Walking distance from All Star Sports is about 10-15 minutes, though I wouldn’t recommend the walk late at night due to heavy traffic and limited sidewalks.

Other Late-Night Hangouts

Swan and Dolphin Restaurants – The restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin within walking distance of Boardwalk are all open until ~11 or 11:30 (vs. the Disney restaurants in the area that close ~9:30), including Il Mulino, Shula’s Steakhouse, and Kimonos (which stays open until 1 AM for sushi!).

Note: Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar that used to stay open until 1:45 AM, closed permanently in April after nearly 30 years at BoardWalk. Disney has not yet announced a replacement.

Tips to Avoid Late-Night Hunger Pangs

Since true 24-hour dining is gone, here are my updated survival strategies:

Stock Up Smart

  • Airport runs: If you’re arriving on a late flight, grab something substantial at Orlando International Airport
  • Park snacks: Pick up extra pre-packaged items during the day (pretzels, chips, crackers)
  • Starbucks wraps: These combo meals with fruit are perfect for eating half now, half later
  • UBER Eats: Let’s be honest – the world has changed. Make sure to take advantage of the deals and free delivery.

Resort Backup Plans

  • Hotel gift shops: Most resorts have grab-and-go sections open until 11 PM
  • Room service: The Grand Floridian still offers room service until 11 PM (one of the few resorts that does!)
  • Mobile ordering: Check the My Disney Experience app for late-night mobile order cutoff times

The Bottom Line

Look, I miss the convenience of true 24-hour dining at Disney World. As a former Cast Member who used to grab late-night bites after shifts, I understand the frustration. But the reality is that Disney scaled back these hours during the pandemic due to staffing challenges and demand patterns, and they haven’t returned to pre-pandemic operations.

Your best bets for late-night dining are Disney Springs (until 11 PM-midnight), select resort quick service locations (until 11 PM), or that McDonald’s drive-thru if you’re staying at the All-Stars and have a car.

Is it ideal? No. Will it satisfy your 3 AM Mickey waffle cravings? Unfortunately, no. But with a little planning and maybe keeping some snacks in your room, you can still survive those late-night Disney hunger pangs.
