Disney World Rainy Day Guide — Indoor Activities & Escapes

Rainy weather doesn’t have to dampen your Disney World adventure! When the raindrops start to fall, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore the array of exciting indoor activities and experiences that Disney World has to offer. From resort hopping to behind-the-scenes tours and dining, we’ve got you covered with a range of rainy day adventures that will keep you entertained while staying dry. So, let’s dive into the magical world of Disney, even when the weather isn’t cooperating!

Resort Hopping: Your Key to Stay Dry

One of the easiest ways to stay dry is to “monorail hop”, also known as visiting the Disney Resorts around the Seven Seas Lagoon. The Polynesian Village, The Contemporary Resort and the Grand Floridian are all Deluxe Disney resorts, which means that you’re going to be offered incredible dining opportunities and many unique experiences to escape the clouds.

We are also fans of resorts whose footprints aren’t too spread out, like Wilderness Lodge and Yacht & Beach Club. Unfortunately, that means that locations like Saritoga Springs and Old Key West aren’t ideal.

Just know that your best friend will be the concierge, as they’ll be able to share the daily hotel events and point you in the right direction of memories!

Indoor Tours: Exploring EPCOT’s Hidden Gems

There are two tours that are exclusively indoors – and they are actually in the same neighbourhood in EPCOT!

Behind the Seeds at The Land is a walking tour of the Living with the Land attraction, which is completely indoors and is actually a fairly reasonable pricing.

The other experiences are the Seas Adventures, including the Aqua Tour, DiveQuest and Dolphins in Depth. These are a little more expensive and require planning, but still a memorable way to spend a rainy day!

Disney Springs: Rainy Day Retail Therapy and Gastronomic Delights

From Splitsville to the World of Disney, and everything in between, Disney Springs is a great way to spend an afternoon where rain is predicted.

Our recommendations are to search Groupon and other deal sites in advance, because why not save money when you can?

What else can you do at Disney Springs during the rain?

  • Grab a meal at T-Rex or Chef Art Smith’s in order to escape the torrential downpours.
  • Go shopping at the World of Disney, AKA the largest Disney Store on the planet.
  • Did I mention that you should eat?

We’ve got an entire article about the Unique Experiences at Disney Springs, so if you need additional ideas, just head over there.

Food Tours: A Tasty Escape at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

This is a fun one! If you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, they’ve got exciting food experiences which will gain you access to the kitchens and culinary teams of some of my FAVORITE restaurants on property. Ask the front desk for times, because a lot of them are first-come first-served.

Even if you can’t get on one of the tours, you can always just go to the Sanaa lounge for bread service!
