Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Night Visit — After Dark Magic

“Rising Moons!” my friends!

After spending time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World at night during our last trip, we’ve come up with a couple of tips that will help your integration into the immersive land.

Remember that each and every single guest’s experience will be different than yours, because we’re talking about a land that honestly has something different for each level of fandom. With that in mind, we’re coming at this exercise as fans of THEME PARKS and storytelling….so if we get a few of the details wrong, send me a note and we’ll fix it asap!

6 Tips for Visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Night

GET LOST (ON PURPOSE)

This land is incredibly detailed, but we’re talking about what to expect after a certain time on your watch (maybe 5pm to 7pm, depending on the time of year).

From droids to interactions with the locals, you’re going to be in awe of the thought that the imagineers and creative minds have put into Batuu!

KNOW THE LINGO

Brownie points galore if you can blend in with the locals! How do you do it? Well it’s all about knowing the basic phrases that will create a rapport with folks who are just going about their day-to-day lives in the Star Wars.

  • Rising Moons (Good Evening/Night)
  • May the Spires keep you (When saying goodbye and you want to impress)
  • Til the Spire! (Asta-la-bye bye lol!)

From the Millennium Falcon to the Market and all the amazing lighting features….you’ll want to be on top of your Insta-Story game after the sun goes down!

RESERVATIONS

There is one reservation that is a MUST and two that are budget focused, which would require more research before making.

Oga’s Cantina is a gotta-see, even if you grab a non-alcoholic drink just to gain access to the bar. From the tunes from DJ R-3X’ to the entertaining staff, you’ll want to get as much out of the 45-minutes that you get with a reservation. Don’t worry about the time of day though, because you’re not going to notice the outside world! 😉

The other reservations, which could be gained easier at night, is at the Droid Depot and Savi’s Workshop. Just know ahead of time that you’re going to be investing time and money into a souvenir that some may not get the same joy out of than others.

MILLENIUM FALCON: SMUGGLERS RUN

We did the attraction both during the day and at night, but the biggest difference is definitely the crowds! Our standby line was around 40 minutes, but when we did the single rider line…it was around 10-15 minutes!

Why does the wait time matter? Well it’s all about getting to experience the attraction more than once, especially when you start to see the potential to grow your score and familiarity of the storyline.

DINNER OPTIONS ARE AWESOME

There are two quick service locations, which will provide options for folks who want to eat in the land.

We went to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo on the first night, and even if the portions were smaller than most “theme park quick service locations”…it was seriously a great option! We had the Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip and the Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread, followed OF COURSE with a trip to the Milk Stand for a Blue & Green Milk!

Just check out the official Disney menu for yourself, as it’s all about dietary preferences at the end of the day.

The second Quick Service location is Ronto Roasters, best known for the Ronto Wrap. My personal suggestion is to walk through Ronto Roasters on your way to Docking Bay 7, as that way you don’t have to double back!

Hope this was helpful!
