5 Reasons to Love Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Inspired by the Victorian era beach resorts that were constructed along the east coast of Florida during the late 19th century, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a luxury hotel at Walt Disney World in Florida and one of the icons of Disney hospitality.

This resort is one of my favorite places to spend time at Disney World and by far is a must-see on your next vacation!

MONORAIL ACCESS TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM AND EPCOT (VIA THE TICKET & TRANSPORTATION CENTER)

When you think about Walt Disney World, one of the first thoughts are about the Monorail and hopping on the “highway in the sky” to disembark at the Magic Kingdom for an adventure of a lifetime!

Not only do you get the convenience of having a monorail stop at your hotel, but you also get the bonus of saving time from not having to wait for buses to go to and from EPCOT & the Magic Kingdom!

The resort is home to one of the best restaurants in North America, Victoria & Albert’s, which holds an AAA Five Diamond Award! I would go into all the reasons why V&A’s is awesome, but just know that I’ve actually booked a trip to Walt Disney World from Toronto just because I got a reservation! It’s THAT good!

Imagine walking along the waterfront with a view of the Magic Kingdom, the horn from the Disney Ferry Boats in the distance…it’s pretty darn epic! In fact, it’s one of my favorite strolls on property!

CHARACTER DINING AT 1900 PARK FARE

If you’re looking for a character experience to bring a few extra smiles to your trip, look no further than the two options at 1900 Park Fare.

Supercalifragilistic Breakfast is home to a morning buffet, with classics and revamps of traditional breakfast foods. It’s also where you can meet Mary Poppins, Alice & the Mad Hatter and the Hundred Acre Gang (Winnie the Pooh and Tigger)

For dinner, you’ll be given the chance to enjoy “Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner”, with Cinderella and her Prince, the Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine. It’s a solid offering for younger families and folks wanting to dine at the Grand Floridian! It’s actually a fairly easy reservation to get, so if you’re looking for a Dinner and can’t get Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare is your best choice.

THE LOBBY

Just walking into the Lobby from the Monorail will give you goosebumps!

The five-story atrium, which was decorated with classic Victorian architecture and many amazing features…like the Otis “Birdcage” elevator and the grand piano. Basically, you’ll want to spend time taking this room in because it’s all about the details and the ambience that’s been carefully designed to take you from the day-to-day stresses and into a better time!

Oh, and did I mention Victoria & Alberts?

Hope that you had fun with this Fun Facts article, as it’s always a joy to re-visit the reasons why the Grand Floridian is so magical!
