Disney Guest Code — Unofficial Tips for Magical Visits

We all know the basic rules at Disney Parks – no flash photography, keep your hands and arms inside the ride vehicle, and so on. But there’s a whole world of unwritten rules that can make or break your magical experience.

As a Disney enthusiast, I’m here to share some insights that’ll help you navigate the parks like a pro. Let’s dive in!

1. The Great Shoulder Ride Debate

Picture this: You’ve been waiting for an hour to see the fireworks, and suddenly, a 9-foot-tall kid-on-shoulders appears in front of you. Not magical, right?

  • Why it’s a no-no:
    • You’re creating a domino effect of epic proportions!
  • Better alternatives:
    • Find a spot behind a trash can or flower bed for an unobstructed view.
    • Arrive early to snag a prime location.

Remember, Disney is for everyone. Let’s keep it fair and fun for all!

2. Stroller Etiquette: The Art of Wheeled Navigation

With more strollers than a baby convention, here’s how to roll like a pro:

  • Use designated stroller parking. Trust me, you want your stroller to be there when you return!
  • Don’t let your kid steer if they can’t see over the handles. My ankles thank you in advance!
  • If your stroller’s been moved, don’t panic! It’s probably just been relocated for safety or a photo op.

3. The Social Media Struggle: To Live Stream or Not to Live Stream?

I get it, you want to share your experience. But before you go live on Instagram:

  • Consider the dark rides. Your phone light in the Haunted Mansion? Not cool, ghostly friends.
  • Your commentary might be hilarious to you, but your fellow doom buggy riders might disagree.

Live in the moment, not behind the screen!

4. The Language Lesson: Choose Your Words Wisely

Disney is a family-friendly place, so keep it PG, folks! And here’s a funny thing I’ve experienced:

Imagine being called something unpleasant in a language you’re assumed not to speak… but you do! 😉 Never assume someone doesn’t understand you – you might just show your ignorance instead of your wit!

5. Cast Members: Not Your Personal Babysitters

Unless you’re using an official childcare service, cast members aren’t paid to watch your kids while you ride Space Mountain. They have their own roles to play, and “lost child finder” isn’t one of them.

Pro Tip: Use Rider Switch if your kids can’t ride. It’s a game-changer!

6. The Golden Rule of Disney: Patience and Respect

Remember elementary school’s “golden rule”? It applies here too!

  • Ride breakdown? Don’t tell the cast member they ruined your vacation. They didn’t personally sabotage the ride, I promise!
  • Food order mix-up? Explain calmly. Yelling about a forgotten chocolate milk won’t magically make it appear.

Bonus Tip: Use Mobile Ordering! It prevents those “But Dad, I wanted milk too!” moments.

7. The Magic Words: “Please” and “Thank You”

Typical Canadian, eh? But seriously, a little courtesy goes a long way. If someone does something for you, acknowledge it! It reinforces good behavior and spreads the magic. #iAmCanadian 😉

Remember, there’s so much that goes into a Disney trip. Keep things in perspective, and you’ll create the most magical memories possible!
