Disney World Best Napping Spots — Places to Rest & Recharge

The number of times that I’ve heard “I need a vacation from my vacation” won’t surprise anyone who’s actually been to the Vacation Kingdom! Let me give you my favorite spots for a quick cat-nap to replenish your energy level.

Most include air conditioning… because trust me, that Florida heat will impact your headspace more than you might realize until it’s too late.

IN YOUR ROOM

This one’s pretty straight-forward, but my plans always include a day-time nap at the resort. We are NOT morning people, so for us to make it from Rope Drop until the parks close… that midday stop at the resort is a Must!

Flop on the bed for a good 25-30 minutes, take a refreshing shower, and you’re ready for an evening of magic and adventure!

IN THE RESORT LOBBY

When I’m looking for a quiet corner to grab a quick couple of minutes of ‘alone time’ without the hustle and bustle, I head straight for a comfy chair in a resort lobby.

My favorite is the Wilderness Lodge, but the Riviera Resort and the Yacht Club Resort also have some nice alcoves to enjoy for a quick cat-nap.

HUB GRASS

In the hub of the Magic Kingdom, there’s a spot that I just LOVE for a relaxing nap… the Hub Grass! Plus, a nap with Disney Ducks around is all the rage on Instagram 😉

ON THE TOMORROWLAND TRANSIT AUTHORITY PEOPLEMOVER

The attraction itself runs about 10 minutes, but here’s the best part – the vehicles are fairly comfy AND you can often get one all to yourself. With lines being fairly light (thanks to nearby heavy-hitters like Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train), you should be able to get the R&R you need to recharge.

MUPPETVISION 3D

17 Minutes in an air-conditioned show building with a classic movie playing in the background… perfect to relax! I’ve been known to sit in the back of the theatre with a little extra leg room and doze off for a little snooze.

Don’t worry about sleeping through multiple shows – the in-theatre effects will definitely wake you up! In a park with very few attractions, this may be your best option at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

THE AMERICAN ADVENTURE

I have 100% fallen asleep in this attraction… and started to snore… It was embarrassing when I was awoken by my friends laughing at me, but seeing as the show is fairly light in attendance, it’s well worth the 30-minute show if you need it.

CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS

One of my favorite classic attractions, this Walt Disney original from the World’s Fair is also a great spot to snooze! At 20 minutes in length, you’re almost guaranteed to have your eyes start to flutter about half-way through.

Most of the experience is in complete darkness, so find a spot in the back and use your backpack as a pillow (because those seats are not comfy at all!)

I’m not talking about the main floor. In fact, most folks don’t even know about the best part of this quick service location. The second floor of the restaurant is a perfect get-away to relax after eating incredibly greasy theme park food. By the way, the “greasy” doesn’t equal “bad” 😉

THE BEACH

Walt Disney World is filled with hidden gems, and one of my favorites to share are the beaches at the various resorts. If you visit the Polynesian Village Resort, the Yacht & Beach Club, Riviera Resort, or the Swan and Dolphin Resort… you’ll discover that they all have nice white sand beaches to enjoy!

These are great spots to grab a nap, and they’re all within walking distance of a Theme Park! Some even have swinging benches and beach chairs 😉

AND FINALLY…THE RANDOM SPOTS!

Here are some other perfect spots I’ve found for catching some Z’s:

  • Poolside at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • UK Gardens in EPCOT
  • Echo Lake Area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Flame Tree BBQ Seating Area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
