Keeping score is becoming more and more important with guests, especially when you’re thinking about repeatability and re-rideability!
The goal for this article is to provide you with experiences that add an element of gaming and various features that allow you to win AND get better with extra knowledge.
Disney Experiences That You Can Compete On
Toy Story Mania
It’s almost like they wanted to sell Wii games with this attraction…and it worked! From the levels to the gameplay which promotes coordination between players, Toy Story Mania allows you to compete against each other AND the game to get the highest score!
Remember – accuracy means NOTHING:)
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Becoming a Galactic Hero is the goal of everyone who rides Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, and it’s all about hitting the right targets and not giving up!
The added bonus of being able to control your ride vehicle can either help or hinder your score, so know ahead of time who gets to spin the car…because success is in their hands.

Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom
The ultimate experience of competition is the Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom game, which teams you with Merlin against the villains. There are three levels (Beginner, Medium and Hard) to play, with Medium & Hard using the strategy of the cards to combat certain spells.
This adds huge repeatability AND is really a fun competition to keep getting better!
Frontierland Shooting Arcade
Buy your tokens and shoot your infrared gun against targets. Loser buys the Dole Whip!
I’ve been known to have a lead-foot when on the Tomorrowland Speedway, so the competition could involve NOT running into the car in front of you or racing the car next to you. It is a race, you know!

From the Boardwalk to Dinoland USA, you’re able to put your money where your mouth is and compete against other guests for classic carnival prizes!
This one is a little more controversial because although they are fun to watch…it doesn’t really appeal to most because with the money that you spend on a game can be used to just go and buy the plush toy from the store;)
When The Void opened at Disney Springs, there was a lot of buzz around planners to see if folks would actually want to escape reality while they’re on a magical vacation. In the end, there’s a market for this VR experience due to the fact that you’re able to play with your entire family and the gameplay is actually appealing!
Do your research before you go, because the last thing that you’d want to do is plan to spend money at the Disney Springs location of The Void when there’s a chance that you’ll actually have a game nearby your hometown.
I put this last on the list because it’s actually less about competition and more about creating a car that will knock the socks off everyone else in your ride vehicle! Are you aiming for efficiency, capability, responsiveness or power?
Tag us in your Test Track vehicle posts on instagram (@StepstoMagic) and we’ll see where you stack up against everyone!
I’m a very competitive person by nature, but know that while you’re on vacation…there are times when it’s less about “winning” and more about having fun! 🙂
