Disney World Cupcake Guide — 10 Spots You Can’t Miss

Let me tell you something from my heart – life is simply better with cupcakes! And nowhere is this more true than at Disney World, where cupcakes aren’t just desserts but miniature works of art.

But before we get into the list, I need to acknowledge something. For nearly a decade, this guide started with one name: Sprinkles. The cupcake ATM alone was worth a trip to Disney Springs — and yes, I absolutely made midnight cupcake runs to that thing. Multiple times. Zero regrets. Sprinkles closed on December 31, 2025. All locations, gone overnight, one day’s notice to employees. It stings. I won’t pretend otherwise.

But here’s what I know after years of eating my way around this property: Disney World has never needed Sprinkles to have extraordinary cupcakes. I’ve just had a very good excuse to go find them now!

Let’s start with the same ground rule as always: the BEST CUPCAKE AT DISNEY WORLD is your next cupcake! Once we’ve agreed on that, we can move on 😉

And for the record — I am by no means a foodie. My cupcake criteria starts with my hunger level and goes from there. I love new locations to get cupcakes, so this is by no means a comprehensive list. It IS, however, a list that will make your next Disney trip significantly more delicious.

The Best Cupcake Spots in Disney World

  1. Main Street Confectionery (Magic Kingdom) – Classic cupcakes with that Main Street charm, plus some of the best party-exclusive seasonal options anywhere on property.
  2. Karamell-Küche (EPCOT’s Germany) – Give me salted caramel all year long and I am a HAPPY human being.
  3. Trolley Car Café (Hollywood Studios) – The Earl Grey Cupcake with orange buttercream is one of the most surprisingly good things I’ve eaten at Disney World. Full stop.
  4. Be Our Guest (Magic Kingdom) – The Grey Stuff IS actually delicious. The cupcake is worth every ounce of effort it takes to get that 60-day ADR!
  5. Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe (EPCOT’s Norway) – Mini cupcakes that you can literally shove an entire one in your mouth without causing too much of a scene. #RelationshipGoals
  6. Gideon’s Bakehouse (Disney Springs) – Not technically cupcakes, but the cake slices have inherited the “Disney Springs dessert destination” crown and they are WORTHY.
  7. Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC (Disney Springs) – For when your dietary restrictions need some magical accommodation. Vegan, gluten-free, and actually delicious? Yes, all three.
  8. BoardWalk Deli (The Boardwalk) – Home of rotating seasonal cupcakes that consistently punch above their weight. The strawberry cupcake alone is worth the walk from EPCOT.
  9. Sunshine Seasons (EPCOT’s The Land) – The most underrated cupcake spot in all of EPCOT. Nobody’s in line here. I don’t understand it. I’m not complaining.
  10. Disney Resort Food Courts – The dark horse of this entire list, and honestly? Sometimes the best thing I’ve eaten all trip. More on this below.

Let’s Get Down to Specific Cupcakes

The Master’s Cupcake — Be Our Guest (Magic Kingdom)

“Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!” Lumière wasn’t lying, folks. This chocolate cupcake topped with the famous Grey Stuff — that sweet, swirled cream topping finished with crispy pearls — is genuinely one of the best desserts on property. And you get to eat it inside the Beast’s Castle INSIDE Magic Kingdom, which is the kind of detail that never gets old no matter how many times I’ve done it.

The catch: Be Our Guest requires a reservation, and it fills up 60 days out like clockwork. Put it in your calendar. Set a reminder. Do what you have to do. It’s worth the planning.

The Salted Caramel Cupcake — Karamell-Küche (EPCOT Germany)

Werther’s caramel tucked inside a chocolate cupcake, then MORE caramel drizzled over salted caramel buttercream on top. I’m all for seasonal food trends, but give me salted caramel all year long and I’m a happy camper!

The fall pumpkin spice version is genuinely spectacular if you’re visiting during Food & Wine season. And while you’re there — buy a bag of the Werther’s caramel to take home. You’ll thank me at 11pm when you’re back at the hotel.

The Earl Grey Cupcake — Trolley Car Café (Hollywood Studios)

This one surprises people every single time. A tea-flavored cupcake base — genuinely, authentically Earl Grey flavored, not artificially so — topped with orange buttercream. Inside a theme park Starbucks. I know how that sounds. Go try it anyway and report back.

This is the cupcake I tell people about when they say Disney desserts are all the same. They are not. Not even close.

The Strawberry Cupcake — BoardWalk Bakery

White cake, strawberry filling, strawberry cream icing, a chocolate-dipped strawberry on top, chocolate shavings around the sides. I never thought a cupcake could be genuinely refreshing, but this one comes close to what the Orange Creamsicle Cupcake used to do — it just completely works in a way you don’t expect.

The best part: BoardWalk Bakery doesn’t require a park ticket. Walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway, grab a cupcake, stroll the BoardWalk at night. One of the best free upgrades you can add to any EPCOT evening.

Frozen Mini Cupcakes — Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe (EPCOT Norway)

Anything that comes in miniature form is obviously superior to its giant counterpart — that’s just a fact. These little beauties let you sample different flavors without commitment issues. Plus they’re the perfect size to eat while waiting in line for Frozen Ever After, which is very much a thing I have done and will do again.

The Cake Slices — Gideon’s Bakehouse (Disney Springs)

Okay, I know. Not cupcakes. I hear you. But when Sprinkles closed, a gap opened up in the “Disney Springs special occasion dessert” category, and Gideon’s is the one filling it. Three-layer cakes piled with buttercream, limited edition flavors rotating constantly, and a Hot Cookie Hour at 2-3pm and 7-8pm where you get warm cookies topped with local artisan ice cream.

There will be a wait. There’s almost always a virtual queue. Check in when you arrive at Disney Springs, go do something else, and come back when they text you. It is worth it every single time.

2026 note: The old Sprinkles space currently has a CrazyShake pop-up from Black Tap running through May 2026, if over-the-top milkshakes are your thing. The cupcake ATM is gone but the location lives on!

The Unsung Heroes: Disney Resort Food Courts

The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Image: Dustin Fuhs)

This is my favorite category and the one most guides completely skip.

The All-Star resorts — Music, Movies, Sports — and Pop Century have been quietly producing some of the most creative cupcakes on the entire property. The Rock and Roll Cupcake at All-Star Music (yellow cake, peanut butter buttercream, banana panna cotta, candied bacon, chocolate guitar on top — yes, really, an Elvis tribute cupcake) is one of the most fun desserts I’ve had at Disney World. All-Star Movies has the Box Office Cupcake: yellow cake, caramel filling, peanut-pretzel-popcorn and marshmallow buttercream.

No park ticket needed. Almost never a wait. And every time I find something new in one of these cases, it makes my whole day.

If you’re staying on property or doing a resort-hop afternoon, just ask to peek at the dessert case. You might find the best cupcake of your entire trip somewhere you completely didn’t expect.

Party-Exclusive Cupcakes

When I spend money on an extra-ticketed event, there had better be exclusive cupcakes for me to buy! lol. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party consistently deliver some of the best themed cupcakes of the year. I once had a Halloween party cupcake that was so good I went back for a second one at 11pm while wearing a light-up skeleton headband.

I regret nothing.

Character Cupcakes

Belle has her own cupcake! Classic yellow cake topped with a rose — tasty AND magical at the same time. Other characters that show up in cupcake form throughout the parks and resorts:

  • Mickey Mouse
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Dumbo
  • Cinderella
  • Olaf
  • AND MORE!

I once spent a trip trying to collect character cupcakes and photograph them in front of their respective attractions. My sugar high was LEGENDARY by day two. Highly recommend attempting this. Slightly less recommend doing it in Florida summer heat.

Money-Saving Cupcake Tips (Because Disney Ain’t Cheap!)

  • Grab a breakfast cupcake — Who says you can’t have dessert first thing? (Not me, that’s for sure!)
  • Split with friends — Many Disney cupcakes are MASSIVE and genuinely shareable. Though I won’t judge you for not sharing. This is a judgment-free zone.
  • Look for seasonal options — Festival season at EPCOT especially. The rotating options during Food & Wine and Flower & Garden are some of the best all year.
  • Use your snack credits wisely — On the Disney Dining Plan, many cupcakes qualify as snack credits. This is an excellent use of snack credits and I will die on this hill.

The Unspoken Cupcake Rules at Disney

  1. The “it’s vacation” rule — Calories consumed at Disney automatically don’t count. That’s just science.
  2. The “I walked 20,000 steps” justification — You’ve earned that second cupcake. Possibly the third.
  3. The “try the weird flavor” mandate — If it sounds strange, you MUST try it. This is how I discovered my love for the Earl Grey cupcake and never looked back.

I’m a huge fan of giving folks MORE ideas than sticking to a basic Top 10 list — especially when it comes to cupcakes! 😄

When you’re planning your next Disney day, leave room for at least one cupcake stop. Your taste buds will thank you, your Instagram followers will be jealous, and you’ll have the sugar energy needed to tackle one more ride before park close!

Now go find your next cupcake. It’s the best one you’ve ever had. I promise.
