When Disney brought out Disney Pins for the Millennium celebration, it was a matter of time before all parts of the company got in on the action. Today, the options for pins range from general to specifics, and everything in between.
Now, because we’re talking about the idea of buying a pin as a souvenir to remember a vacation there’s an opportunity to share some of the things that we’ve bought or received in order to grow our collection.
Editor’s Note: I’ll be looking through my collection, but there are so many individual designs that instead of showing off…the goal is to share concepts and categories.
CURRENT YEAR

Some of the most popular designs include the year that folks are travelling to a Disney Park. This is helped by the sheer variety of pins that incorporate the year with a funky design or characters. These are incredibly easy to trade for after the year changes, but it’s an easy pick-up at the airport!
EXTRA TICKETED EVENTS
Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party both have exclusive limited release pins that are available for purchase during the event. Make sure to pick them up early in the night because you don’t want to be stuck in a huge line when there is candy & snacks to be had:)

ATTRACTION-SPECIFIC

Buying an attraction pin is very special because you’re able to show your passion for experiences from the Haunted Mansion to the Jungle Cruise and everything in-between. I’ve picked up designs from Test Track before it went through it’s redesign, Toy Story Midway Mania on Opening Day and many other individual attractions that mean something special.
FAVORITE PARK
The first park that I walked into was EPCOT, so on top of having a connection to the park because I worked there during my International Program contract…it’s also where I go to when I want to dream. This means that I’ve got a TON of EPCOT-specific pins!
If you find that you have a connection to a theme park, why not remember it with a pin?
COUNTRY FLAG PINS

Walking through the World Showcase is a blast because sometimes it feels like you’re home:) Another way to show off your patriotic pride is by picking up a country-specific Mickey-Ear pin. Don’t worry – Your country doesn’t have to be in EPCOT in order to have a flag pin!
RESORT PINS

I’ve known folks to get a pin for each resort that they stay at! It’s a memory that puts you directly into nostalgia when you remember a specific timeframe that you spent at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Grand Floridian Resort. I’ve passed on picking up Pop Century designs…but that’s just me;)
