Single Rider Lines at Walt Disney World

There are a few attractions at Disney World that allow you to bypass the line if you are a ‘Single Rider’ and it’s a pretty ingenious method to get more guests to experience the ride while creating another element to the planning process.

HOW THE SINGLE RIDER PROCESS WORKS

  1. Enter the “Single Rider Line”
  2. Say HI to the Cast Member at the loading area
  3. Wait until there’s a seat created by an odd number of guests in the standby/Lightning Lane queue
  4. Ride and Repeat!

*PREVIOUS ATTRACTIONS THAT HAD SINGLE RIDER LINES

Toy Story Midway Mania initially had a Single Rider Line back in 2008 when it first happened, but they discontinued it within a few months.

STRATEGIES AND EXTRA INFORMATION

  • You don’t have to be alone to use the Single Rider Line
  • Expect to ride with complete strangers…although you’re all Disney fans and will be enshrined in each other’s on-ride Photo!
  • The Single Rider Line doesn’t involve a Genie+ reservation
  • Usually, it’s less than a Genie+ reservation, sometimes it’s equal. It all depends on how many guests are in front of you. Don’t be afraid to walk away if there are too many guests ahead of you.

WHAT DO YOU MISS?

With the good, you take the bad. Not standing in line can be a great thing, but you also have to anticipate that you’re not getting the full experience by taking this short-cut.

  • Test Track – You don’t get to make your own customized interactive car, but if you scan your Magic Band as you’re entering the car, there’s a chance that your previously designs could be utilized.
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster – You really don’t miss much, as the queue at RNRC is pretty lame
  • Expedition Everest – You miss all of the educational displays and cool theming elements to set the scene for your adventure.
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – You miss the entire queue, as the entrance takes you directly to the role-assignment room.

FUN FACT

If you go into the retail shop at Test Track, you’re able to design your car and then save it directly to your Magic Band for use on your next ride.
